Letter from Headteacher

Dear Parents/ Carers,

At Castle Manor Academy, we take great pride in how professional our students look when they are wearing their school uniform. We would like to take this opportunity to remind students and parents about the high expectations we have for uniform in case you are shopping for new uniform over the half term.

All students should have a black blazer with the academy badge, plain white shirts with collars and top buttons and the Castle Manor Academy tie, all of which can be purchased at KiiWii clothing (http://cpat.kiiwiiclothing.co.uk). Trousers should be smart and business-like for both boys and girls, and not skinny fit or stretchy with a high lycra content; jeans and leggings are not permitted. If girls wish to choose a skirt, it should be knee-length. All socks and tights should be black and students should wear sensible, flat school shoes. Students are not permitted to wear trainers around the school site, during lessons or breaks and lunches. If they are seen, they will be confiscated. Likewise, please ensure your child has a warm, waterproof, dark-coloured winter coat as hoodies and other similar tops are not permitted and will also be confiscated.

For health and safety reasons, students are only permitted to wear a stud in each or either ear and one ring. Only a nude or clear retainer is permitted in nose piercings and any other visible piercings are not allowed. If make up is being worn, it should be natural. Coloured nail polish, gels and nail extensions are also not permitted.

Students who are not able to meet with our uniform expectations on a given day are taken to our R&R area where we will contact parents or carers in order to resolve the situation, will lend items of uniform for the day, or provide wipes to remove make up or nail polish. If the situation cannot be resolved, the student will remain in R&R, with work provided, until they can rectify their uniform problem.

Thank you, as always, for your support of our school and our students. We hope you have a safe and happy half term and we look forward to seeing you back on Monday 20th February.
