Letter for Year 11 Parents

Dear Parent/Carer

The exam season has truly started and we felt it important to be very clear about lesson arrangements in this time. Students are expected to be in school in all lessons until May half term.

After this time we expect them to come in to school for lessons that they still have exams in. They also need to be in school during ECDL and BTEC lessons to ensure qualifications are all completed. Students and parents often ask about ‘study leave’. This is not something that we do at Castle Manor. We believe that students get the best support with their learning by working with their teachers.

We also have two really important celebration events for Year 11 to mark the end of their time at school. Graduation will be on the June 24th at 4pm. You will receive a letter shortly detailing information about this event. The Year 11 prom is going to be held on Friday 1st July at Chilford Hall in Linton from 6.30 to 11pm. As fundraising continues, the final ticket price has not yet been confirmed but is estimated between £35 and £40. The ticket price will include a reception drink, photographer, sweet cart, mini fish and chip meal and a copy of the Year 11 yearbook (which will be presented at the graduation ceremony).

The tab for the £10 deposit will be available on Parent Pay this week so that you can pay electronically to reserve your son/daughter’s prom ticket. Over the next few weeks, the price will be confirmed and then the total ticket payment option will be available (there will be an option to pay the remaining balance in full or in smaller, monthly payments).

To secure your child’s ticket, please complete the deposit payment of £10 by Monday 2nd May 2016.

All monies will need to be paid in full by Friday 24th June 2016

Any questions or queries; please do not hesitate to contact me.

Mrs Whitcombe, Head of School
