Leadership Team Blog – Friday 27th June

Unknown-3Head of School – Matthew Gibson

One of the reasons I and other members of the leadership team at Castle Manor write this blog each week is to make sure that parents and other people with an interest in the school are kept up to date with the activities and achievements of the students. We of course, try to do this in other ways as well, for example, with our half termly newsletters, out Twitter feed and through more routine day-to-day e-mail, text message and phone contact. We are keen to establish what works best for you, so if you have any views on which of these methods of keeping in touch is most (or indeed, least) effective, then we’d like to hear from you. We’ll be sending out a more formal consultation on this later in the term.

Of course, one of the main drivers for the Castle Partnership is to work with other local schools to the benefit of all students as part of our All Through vision. This week we hosted dozens of local primary school children, from 12 schools as part of a project to design stained glass windows for St Mary’s in Haverhill. To see Castle Manor students leading and primary school students participating so enthusiastically in a local project really helped to illustrate the partnership vision in reality. Of course, this is just one example of this, with sport leaders recently helping to run local sports days, and next week, students from across the partnership have the honour of presenting to the annual conference of the Suffolk Association of Secondary Heads about the benefits of All Through learning.

As I said in my opening paragraph, if you have any feedback for us about the ways in which we communicate, we’d really like to hear from you.
