Carol Player Retires After 25 Years at Castle Manor

PopIMG_3492ular PE and Science teacher Carol Player retires at the end of term after 25 years at Castle Manor.

Carol joined the school in 1990, as a PE teacher and worked with thousands of students over her time in the school. The school celebrated this week with an afternoon tea and tennis match, marking Carol’s sporting talents.

Carol started teaching straight from University in Eastbourne, and took a break in her career to have a family and play Basketball for England. A very talented sportswoman, she inspired many children in her time working in Haverhill.

Vanessa Whitcombe, Head of School, said “Students, colleagues and families will miss Mrs Player very much, she is well know in our community as an excellent teacher who has always had very high standards. We thank her for all the time she has given to our children, and the impact she has had on them.”

Carol plans to spend her retirement spending more time with family, friends, travelling, painting and sport; we wish her and long, happy and healthy retirement.
